Cape Cod Charter Fishing for Striped Bass & Bluefish
Fishing is a Family Sport !!!
Growing up in Massachusetts we always came to Cape Cod both for vacation and also in the off season because we had several relatives living here year round. I moved to Cape Cod permanently after hight school in the summer of 1967. Fishing for striped bass , bluefish and other species was always a family time I learned to fish on Cape Cod for Stripers , Blues & other species from my great grandfather, grandfather, father,an uncle and yes even my mother (she's the only one that ever won any trophies in tournaments). Fishing the Cape Cod Canal, Harwich, Chatham, and from Plymouth to Provincetown on the Bay. We fished from boats and from shore. Live bait, and plugs mostly. My grandfather and father made many, but not all of their plugs. They also made many of their own rods. My father even built his first boat himself. I repair a lot of rods, but have only made 1 rod for cod jigging from scratch. I do make a lot of spoon type lures mostly for bluefish. Check out our story pages for "The Bluefish Blues".
I got the fishing bug from my Dad after he brought home a few "Good Sized Stripers". This one is around 1955.

This fish got Mom 1st place in the Women's Striper Division in 1958 from the Taunton Saltwater Sportsmen's Club
I still own the pictured rod which my father made for my mother. It's a 10 footer, I also still have the Penn. Squidder and occasionally use the combo at the Cape Cod Canal or on the beaches.

I try to keep up the family fishing tradition with my family............... just ask my grandson- Joshua or nephew- Matt

This is no Fluke, well actually it is. When jigging for striped bass while the squid were running, I use the jig pictured above and unexpected results did follow. This little guy must have been real hungry.
The 2009 season did not show us many real big fish, but did show us lots and lots of fish, especially in June. We kept beating our own best day records as far as total numbers of fish. We did see fish in the 25-30 lb.class.
